FAQ - tips & tricks to create your own print file
Here we like to share with you some of our experiences which we have made by ourselves during the last years of graphic-design-evolution. Nevertheless please do not hesitate to contact us anytime if you still have unanswered questions. We hope our hints and advices are helpful for you.
How is the workflow?
1. Create your favorite design. Feel free to download our templates from the menu 'Print Services' / Templates.
2. Choose one of our print products.
3. Choose the quantity.
4. Upload your JPEG file (300 DPI and in CMYK mode).
5. Check out from the basket paying us a bit of money.
6. Wait for the postman to ring your bell and now you can get wild.
How long will it take until I can have a look at my print product?
The production time for all our products is roughly 5 working days. Exact times are stated in the product details of each print product. You can order every day and we will process your order instantly. However for our paper stickers you will find a date displayed next to the calculator which indicates the deadline for this week, which is every Monday. It takes 4 days of printing, cutting and packaging. So we can send you the stickers every next Monday. Now it depends on your local delivery service how long it will take. We ship all our print products with DPD, their regular shipping time to most European countries is between 1 and 4 working days. Normally you can have your paper stickers 12 days after sending us the sticker file.
Which template shall I use?
Use our prepared templates. Just download it here and start being creative.
Which resolution is the best one?
Best resolution for offset printing is 300 DPI. Please don't use less than this because the result will be blurred.
Which colour mode is recommended?
CMYK is our only excepted colour mode. This guarantees a true color reproduction. Please transfer also greyscale and black and white graphics into CMYK mode. We shall not be liable for any colour discrepancies if you send your print files in RGB or any other colour mode than CMYK!
Which file type is the right one?
Our workflow only accepts JPEG files in CMYK mode.
What applications are good for creating a print file?
You can use every graphic application you can handle. We use Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Macromedia Freehand quite often.
Are there further hints for creating own sticker designs?
You can send us any graphic or picture design* you like. Less is more. Please take care of the resolution, the colour mode and don't forget the bleed/trim!
What's about bleed/trim settings?
You need to add bleed/trim to all our print products, the exact bleed/trim will be stated always with the product details. For our paper stickers we need 3mm bleed, meaning if you choose in the calculator a finished sticker in the size of 6x6 cm your uploaded print files need to be layout in 6,6x6,6 cm. So on all sides you need to add 3mm bleed. So normally your picture or background should fill the whole space of 6,6x6,6 cm BUT your text or any important information should be set at least 5mm away from the edge (or 2mm from the bleed/trim line) unless you use it as a graphic instrument and want to have it partly cut off. Please note that we do only work with printers who supply an excellent quality and ensure us perfect trimming. Nevertheless there is a technical tolerance from up to 5% which is customary to the trade and which you must accept (as also stated in our T&C). Normally our printers have a really good trimming and it has never varied more than 3%.
How many customized designs can I get for one paper sticker package?
When using our calculator you will see in the 'how many design' drop down menu how many print files you can upload with your chosen quantity. In the next step you will be able to upload as many print files as chosen by yourself in the calculator. If you order for example a 6x6 cm sticker package with 6.000 copies you can have up to four different designs. For every additional design we charge only 3,50 £ (5 €) for each package.
Can I order other sizes than you offer?
From now on you can choose your own size when using our calculator, simply select 'user defined size' and enter your parameters in cm in the boxes which will appear below. For all other print products please ask our team for optional sizes. As we act as print service brokers as well we are sure we'll find for every job a good value for money solution.
Which material are the stickers made off?
Until now our stickers in the calculator are made off permanently adhesive offset-paper for illustration printing (80gsm). But we added already vinyl stickers as a separate print product to order and aiming to include them soon in our calculator as well.
Are the stickers waterproof?
The paper stickers are not waterproof but once soaked with water they stuck really hard to the surface and can only be scratched off. The vinyl stickers are of course water proof and that is also the reason why we took them on board. We are planning to include the vinyl stickers in the calculator as well - so when the turnaround will hit a certain number you will be more flexible with sizes and so on.
